David Tamaroff
David is a shareholder at Tamaroff & Tamaroff, P.A., where he heads the intellectual property practice. He handles and oversees copyright and trademark registrations, as well as litigation involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, unfair competition, and domain names.
Before co-founding Tamaroff & Tamaroff, P.A., David clerked at the Los Angeles high-stakes litigation firm Howarth & Smith. He also practiced at the Florida Justice Institute, a public interest firm in Miami, Florida.
David received his Juris Doctor from University of Miami, magna cum laude. David served on the executive board of the University of Miami International & Comparative Law Review and received both the CALI Award and Dean’s Certificate for his work in Patent Law.
David received his Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY, where he majored in Biochemistry & Biophysics. He worked as a biotech researcher at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, in Boston, MA, and later at Rensselaer. His research focused on identifying cancer causing genes and cancer drug development.
Daniel Tamaroff
Dan is a shareholder at Tamaroff & Tamaroff, P.A., where he heads the business litigation practice and also represents clients in intellectual property litigation.
Dan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dan conducted his undergraduate studies at Davidson College where he played Division I-AA football and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2003. He attended Valparaiso University School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, in 2006.
Prior to co-founding Tamaroff & Tamaroff, P.A., Dan held an associate attorney position at the prestigious Texas law firm of Curney, Garcia, Farmer, Pickering & House, P.C. Dan is experienced in a broad range of litigation and transactional matters including multimillion dollar construction defect, first-party claims, products liability and tort litigation. Dan also has broad experience in the field of insurance law including insurance coverage analysis and litigation. He has completed numerous coverage reviews and opinions on a broad range of topics and has experience with commercial package policies (general liability and property), homeowner’s policies (standard and non-standard) professional liability policies, commercial/business automobile policies, and personal automobile policies as well as farm and ranch policies.
Candice Lazar
Candice is a third-year law student at the University of Miami. She earned her B.A. in Communication from Michigan State University and her Master of Science in Management from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan. Having worked in advertising and marketing, it’s no surprise that she loves intellectual property law. Candice has vast experience writing for other blogs, websites, newspapers, and newsletters. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and listening to live music. She’s a Crossfit junkie and a travel buff who has visited six continents.
